Donate in Lieu

Donate in lieu and help people suffering from Post Natal Depression

Donate to the Gidget Foundation to mark a special occasion such as a wedding, birthday or anniversary and add meaning to an already special day.

Consider donating to the Gidget Foundation instead of giving a traditional present! As a gift giver, it is often difficult to think of appropriate gifts so why not give a donation as a meaningful alternative.

Or if you are planning a celebration, encourage guests to donate to the Gidget Foundation in lieu of a personal gift.

You could collect the donations at your celebration, and send them in to us afterwards.

You could ask guests to make an online donation via our website or send them our donation form

Donation Form

Or create your own fundraising page through Givematcher and all donations will automatically be collected and transferred to the Gidget Foundation. You can email the unique link of the webpage to your friends and family. Each donation is recorded on your page and guests may leave a personalised message for your occasion.

Donate in Memory

Donate in memory and help those suffering from Post Natal Depression

Donating in memory of a loved one is a meaningful way to honour them while also contributing to raising awareness of perinatal anxiety and depression.

Instead of sending flowers, you can offer friends and family the opportunity to support the Gidget Foundation in memory of a loved one that has passed away.

You can let funeral guests know of your wishes by including a message in the funeral notice. Your funeral director can contact us for a supply of donation envelopes to be made available at the funeral.

We will send a thank-you and tax receipt to every person that makes an In Memory donation. We will also send an acknowledgement letter to the family and a summary of the people who made a donation.

You may also decide to build an In Memory fundraising page through Givematcher. You can email the unique link of the webpage to your friends and family, who may also like to contribute and provide support. Each donation is recorded on your page along with any message of support from your friends and family.

If you would like to make a one-off or monthly donation to the Gidget Foundation in remembrance of a birthday or anniversary of your loved one please Donate Now

Workplace Giving

Workplace giving – help those suffering from Post Natal Depression

Making regular pre-tax donations through your payroll is an easy way to donate to the Gidget Foundation.

Payroll or workplace giving is one of the simplest and cost effective ways to give tax deductible donations and support the Gidget Foundation. Your donations will provide us with stable, long term funding so we can continue to raise awareness of perinatal anxiety and depression.

Benefits for employees

Workplace giving enables employees to donate money to the Gidget Foundation via pre-tax payroll donations (similar to salary sacrifice).

Rather than submitting tax deductible donations with your tax return, you receive an immediate tax benefit.

  • You can donate as much or little as you like
  • Once you have advised payroll of your workplace giving donation amount, there’s no need to remember to make a payment each month
  • You can opt out anytime
  • Your company may agree to match your donation, which doubles the impact
  • Total payroll deductions appear on the PAYG annual payment summary statement (previously known as the Group Certificate) so there is no need for you to keep receipts.

Workplace giving is easy, convenient and tax effective. Many people making regular, small donations can make a big difference to the Gidget Foundation

Benefits for employers

Workplace giving is a simple and effective vehicle for engaging with the community with clear business, employee and community benefits.

Workplace giving benefits include:

  • Provides an opportunity to put corporate social responsibility into action and advance corporate leadership
  • Boosts employee morale and helps retain and attract quality talent
  • Provides support for a strategically aligned cause and helps build strong charity partnerships
  • Increases your company’s charitable giving with minimal administration and cost

A workplace giving program is delivered through your company payroll system. Your company’s payroll team is responsible for contacting and providing the donations directly to the Gidget Foundation.

If you need assistance in implementing an appropriate system in your organisation then please contact us at contact@gidgetfoundation.com.au

Wills and Bequests

Wills and Bequests – help those suffering from Post Natal Depression

By planning now to make a charitable bequest in your Will, you can help us change the landscape for women and their families suffering mental illness into the future.

Leaving a bequest in your Will is a lasting and special way of supporting the Gidget Foundation.

What is a bequest?

A bequest is a sum of money or particular items that are given as gifts upon death. After providing for family and friends, generous donors may choose to leave a gift for the Gidget Foundation. Making a bequest in your Will offers you the chance to help others long after you are gone

Types of bequests

There are various forms of bequest you might consider, including:

Residuary – a gift that consists of the remainder of your estate (once family and friends have been provided for and any taxes and charges are settled)

Percentage – a gift in the form of a specified percentage of your estate

Specific – a gift that is a specified amount of money or other item such as property, art or shares.

You may also donate a combination of the above gifts.

Who should prepare my Will?

While making a will can be difficult and emotional, it is important to make your wishes known.

We recommend that you speak to a qualified solicitor or legal practitioner about your Will to ensure it will be legally recognised and accurately reflect your intentions. It is also advisable to regularly review your will to make sure it reflects any change in circumstances.

Suggested wording for Wills

If you would like to make a bequest to the Gidget Foundation use the following wording, depending on the type of bequest:

“I give to Gidget Foundation (ABN 52 160 202 960), for its general purposes, free of all duties (the residue of my estate) or (a % of my estate) or (a specified sum or specified items), for which an authorised receipt from Gidget Foundation will be a sufficient discharge for the Executor(s) or trustee.”

The most important thing is your own peace of mind so please discuss your Will with your legal advisor.

Informing the Gidget Foundation

You don’t have to inform us that you have chosen to leave a bequest to the Gidget Foundation. However, advising us of your planned generosity helps us to prepare for the future and gives us the opportunity to offer our thanks

What will your legacy achieve?

The community as a whole are not well informed about perinatal mood disorders which has the potential to affect us all. Your generosity can help us

promote a community where parents are nurtured and valued, enabling them to enjoy this special time in life with their young children.

We would be delighted if you would consider leaving a gift to the Gidget Foundation in your Will. Help us make parenthood matter.

If you have any questions, please email us at contact@gidgetfoundation.com.au.
